2017’s Most Stylish Weighted Vests

Weighted clothing is becoming extremely popular among fitness enthusiasts with vests the most popular item. Aren’t weighted vests cumbersome and ugly? When they originally came on the market, they were the aesthetic equivalent of an unflushed toilet, but things have really changed in the last few years.

Manufacturers clearly decided that trainees didn’t want to exercise in what looked like a badly designed dustbin, so they got their heads together and created stylish alternatives. The result is a series of weighted vests that look so good you want to wear one by itself! You can purchase dozens of brands online but here are 5 of the sleekest available on sites such as fitnessmusthaves.com.

Hyperwear Hyper Vest PRO

Hyperwear Hyper Vest PRO

This is by far the most expensive weighted vest on the list, but Hyperwear has created fitness clothing attractive enough to wear at social events! As well as looking like the kind of vest you would wear to a party, the Hyper Vest PRO features a special fabric control system that hugs your body for an incredibly comfortable fit. This is great news if you’re in excellent condition because this vest will accentuate your muscles!

You can pretty much wear it like a jacket as it zips up and enables you to exercise with a full range of motion. The main downsides are the price and the fact you only get 10 pounds of weight. You can purchase more however as the weights are adjustable. If you can get over the price and want something that looks incredible while you train, check out the Hyper Vest PRO. The wicking fabric means no odor, so you smell almost as good as you look!

Tone Fitness Weighted Vest

Tone Fitness Weighted Vest

This is another relatively expensive offering and is arguably even more of a fashion statement than the Hyper Vest PRO! In fact, it looks nothing like a ‘traditional’ vest and has the appearance of a backpack at first glance. The nature of the design means you have to wear a t-shirt because there is little material at the front.

It straps on easily and putting it on and taking it off is a simple matter. However, we would only include the Tone Fitness Weighted Vest in a list of fashionable clothing and not a list of ‘best’ vests because it has a few flaws. The main one is the fact it only holds 12 pounds and the other is the lack of adjustment.

Cross 101 Camouflage Weighted Vest

Cross 101 Camouflage Weighted Vest

With the Cross 101 vest, you can look and train like a commando! It is capable of carrying up to 40 pounds thanks to its excellent design which enables you to add up to 10 x 4-pound weights. It features a one-piece design which is easy to wear thanks to the adjustable Velcro strap, and we love the camouflage look. You would expect a vest that carries 40 pounds to be large and unwieldy, but the Cross 101 is extremely compact.

V-Force Weighted Vest

V-Force Weighted Vest

This offering from V-Force is similar to the Cross 101 model insofar as it is capable of holding a lot of weight (up to 45 pounds) while still looking stylish. Again, it is nowhere near as bulky as you might think and it comes in narrow and broad shoulder width. It is made in the U.S.A. and features a multitude of little pockets on the front where you can add extra weights.

As well as providing you with a cool military look, the V-Force is as durable a vest as there is on the market. In fact, the manufacturer claims it will outlast any of its rivals; a bold claim indeed!

Empower Weighted Vest

Empower Weighted Vest

This particular offering is specifically designed for women which is obvious when you look at the stylish design. It features an unusual ‘X’ shape designed to fit women of all sizes. It is made with a stretchy neoprene fabric so ladies can enjoy a comfortable fit while they train.

The Empower Weighted Vest is also extremely easy to clean and comes in a wide range of colors. On the downside, it only carries 8 pounds, so it is not the best choice if you are a serious trainee. There is a 12-pound version, but again, it is not adjustable.

Final Words

By wearing a weighted vest while you engage in bodyweight training, you increase the difficulty and give your body a real challenge. The result is an increase in muscle mass, bone density and fat loss. The new range of stylish designs available means your attire can look every bit as good as your chiseled body.

I wasn’t always a sporty guy, and for the most part of my life the only exercise I got was walking my dog twice a day.

That wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t enough either and one day I decided I needed to do something about my fitness level, which was pretty lamentable by every standard. Keep reading ...
